Mountain Independence is suitably insured for all the activities we provide, and we ensure that any staff that deliver for us also are suitably insured. Our public liability and professional indemnity insurance cover is provided by the AMI supported scheme.

We recommend clients consider taking out personal travel insurance in the event of cancellation due to illness/injury. It’s also worth considering joining the British Mountaineering Council which along with supporting the great work they do, provides combined 3rd party liability insurance for it’s members as well as many other benefits.

At Mountain Independence safety is paramount, we only use fully qualified, experienced instructors who are members of the relevant professional organisation for their awards and are also suitably insured.

We really recommend, wherever you look for an instructor, that as a minimum they hold adequate insurance. There’s no legal requirement for instructors to do so in the UK, or indeed hold the relevant qualifications, or be a member of a professional organisation. It is worth asking questions and not making assumptions. Quality and professional providers will hold all of the above.
