November birthday climbing scenes, managed a quick November birthday climbing scenes, managed a quick easy route and a nice walk along the coast with Merlin, Steph and Tash. Warm out of the wind down at the base of the crag. Great little route, Toccata *** (Diff), Symphony Point.

Catching up on social media, it's been busy! I r Catching up on social media, it's been busy! I ran a Mountain Leader Navigation Refresher Workshop for the Tom Furey Memorial Trust Festival @tomfurey_mt the other weekend. The nav group took the windy conditions in their stride, putting in the effort developing their skills in tough conditions. The weekend was a great success, raising £6687 for the charity. Lots of folk accessed great quality workshops at all levels; from beginner sessions to advanced topics like big walling and bolting. They're all super good value, and all the money goes directly towards supporting the work of the charity; helping to support folk in financial hardship to access outdoor training courses. Dates for next year's "Furey Festival" are now confirmed as Friday 17th - Sunday 19th October 2025. Put it in your diary and follow @tomfurey_mt so you can get in early to book these great value workshops. Alongside the workshops, the kit sale is always worthwhile, there's great inspirational lectures from adventurous folk, and the after party is good craic! If you can't make it for any reason, donate a bit of cash anyway and support a great charity. Grant applications are now open, so if you, or anyone you know, it's experiencing financial hardship and needs a bit of help to access outdoor training, get in touch with the trust. Bolting workshop for the @tomfurey_mt "Furey Fest" Bolting workshop for the @tomfurey_mt "Furey Fest" on Saturday. Thanks to @goverticalclimbing for sharing his expertise on all things bolting with us; it was a great day of hands on learning. A bit of theory in the morning before heading out and putting it all into practice bolting a new climb, aptly named "Furey Road" First ascent by Emily Cooney & Marcus Cross 19/10/24 Furey Road F3c - Start a couple of metres left of “SW Buttress” below a resin bolt. Climb slabby rock to the left of SWB passing resin first bolt, then 12mm SS expansion bolts to the belay ledge of SWB (optional belay here). Traverse leftwards and up to the blunt nose and follow this to a twin bolt belay/abseil station just below the top of the buttress. Abseil descent possible from here on x2 50m ropes, or top out as for SWB and walk off as per that route. @tomfurey_mt @goverticalclimbing @ami_professionals @rab.equipment

It was spot on for what I wanted having led a couple of indoor climbs (up to the chains) but with no outdoor experience whatsoever. Highly rate their experience, teaching ability and overall quality service provided. They also take some sick photos Tom Cooze
