WTF! An awesome time helping out at the Women's Tr WTF! An awesome time helping out at the Women's Trad Fest again this year as an @ami_professionals mentor. Inspiring to see so many climbers keen to learn and develop, making the most of the opportunity, despite the at times mixed weather.

An extra big thank you and well done to @willosaurus89 @outdoorinstructorlife @battery.powered.adventures and Michelle who were our group's Leaders and shared their knowledge and experience with the learners as volunteers this weekend. They did a fantastic job teaching new skills, developing, and inspiring their learners whilst I mostly hovered around in the background taking photos and acting as a sounding board for ideas.

Very proud to be a small part of a big event, amazingly well organised. I especially appreciated how they bribed the Metoffice to publish a poorer weather forecast thus keeping the crags quiet for us.

Busy fortnight of varied work, including a couple Busy fortnight of varied work, including a couple of Mountain Leader assessments, a mass group abseil for @rawadventures and some D of E work with a local school. Always great to be involved with the development of future outdoor instructor stars, and working with young people right at the start of their outdoor journeys.

There's a picture at the end here of a great teaching resource and crib card for safe stove use that the mega experienced Jim Lewis has put together for his D of E students. Super useful for MLs to have interactive ways of delivering these topics to groups.
Ace time escaping the rain at Holyhead mountain to Ace time escaping the rain at Holyhead mountain today with Jackie, Linda and Wendy who booked with us for a climbing tune-up.

Lots of lead skills practiced both on the sharp end and with the benefit of a rope from above. As well as generally looking at tactics and a few personal skills. Time to get out and do more climbing!

They still had some gas in the tank so we shifted up a gear and they seconded the cracking Javelin Buttress (VS, 4c), finishing the day by then looking at all things abseiling/bailing off routes whilst leaving minimal gear.

A couple of super sunny days delivering a rock cli A couple of super sunny days delivering a rock climbing intro course with the RAF Mountaineering Association here in North Wales, where of course, the sun always shines 😎😏

Yesterday was spent at Tremadog and today was split between Casseg Craig Fraith Isaf and the slate quarry. They've done a great job of drilling the foundation skills and pushed themselves to climb loads of different routes, styles and types of rock already.

Merlin hung out with us at the slate this afternoon, mainly catching up on sleep after a busy week scrambling in Arran last week on holiday.

Merlin's first trip up Snowdon today, he did great Merlin's first trip up Snowdon today, he did great. Now a very tired boy hanging out in the tent at our wild camp spot. He's starting to head out a little more with me for work, if you join us for a course he might pop along too.

Thanks to @cribgochoutdoor for the excellent service getting us sorted quickly with a brand new harness for Merlin this morning.

I'm out working on our latest Mountain Leader Training course. We've had perfect ML weather today, with low visibility on the tops, ideal for putting all the navigation skills into context. Night navigation soon, just waiting for it to go dark...
